Your 10 g of 22K gold is worth about ₹1,30,661 after the deduction.
It holds 9.16 g of pure gold. The deduction alone is ₹6,877.

How this is worked out
Jewellery is never pure gold. 22K is 91.6% gold, 18K is 75%. The rest is copper or silver that holds the shape. So we first find how much pure gold your piece holds, then value it at today’s 24K rate.
Value = weight × (purity ÷ 99.9%) × today’s 24K rate per gram. Then the jeweller’s deduction comes off.
Before you sell or exchange
- Look for the BIS hallmark and the six-character HUID code. Hallmarked gold is easier to value fairly.
- Ask the shop for its deduction in writing before it melts or tests the piece.
- Stones and enamel are weighed with the gold but are not paid for as gold.
- Rates differ between shops and through the day. Check two shops if you can.
